  • 1.  Has any museum in USA in the past held an exhibition focusing upon problems of migrant laborers?

    With the current situation of a virus plaguing the entire world. India has a unique problem of migrants in all the major cities. Majority of them have lost jobs. As the boundaries of states in the county are sealed, they can't go to their respective home states. The problems of these people are varied. I am not aware of any museum in the world which represents this community. Can any one in the group throw some light on this matter?

    In 2006 the Wichita Art Museum, Kansas, hosted an exhibition titled The Migrant Project: Contemporary California. 
    It was photographs by Rick Nahmias. With dual English/Spanish labels it engaged the visitors with contemporary issues related to migrants mainly from Mexico.

    While outside of the US, the Museum of Movements, opening in Malmo, Sweden (currently operating in a program space as they build their practice, collections, and are in pre-development of the museum proper) looks entirely at issues related to migration and the impacts on communities, democratic practices/processes, and human rights. And the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, in Winnipeg, Canada has a permanent installation on Migrant Labourers.
