  • 1.  Rosé Wine for Special Events

    Hi Everyone,

Our institution has recently received a request to serve rosé wine in our building. We do not allow food or drink inside our galleries, but some of our common areas do have artwork installed. It has been our policy to only allow white wine to be served in our building during special events, but I'm wondering if it would be ok to adapt our policy to allow rosé to be served. Does anyone have any experience serving rosé in their museum or does anyone have any advice that they could share?

    Kind regards,

    Kathryn

    Hi Kathryn,
I have had the question asked before and my research indicates that Rose Wine the same as Red Wine, but just not as dark depending where it is spilled. So it seems there is the same, or almost same risk with Rose as with Red Wine. I have not done Internet research on this topic lately but if one of our clients were to ask me I would advise against Rose if Red Wine is not permitted.
    Hope this is helpful.
