We invite you to join us (Rebecca Shulman, Rachel Ropeik, and David Bowles) in Los Angeles on May 6 (the day before the AAM conference) for SEED:Los Angeles. This in-person workshop, from 10am - 5pm at LACMA, will include discussions such as:
- how to structure trainings
- how to align work with your teaching philosophy,
- discussions that address participant-identified challenges.
Registration for this experience includes 6 monthly virtual sessions, access to your peers as a resource, and a library of tested materials available for your use.
One of last year's cohort said this about her experience, "Museum education has always been learn-on-the-job work, and I've relied on a close network on friends and mentors to support me as I have developed as a manager. The SEED cohort was a supportive group of peers who offered their lived expertise as managers of museum education. Rebecca, Rachel, and David facilitated a dynamic program thanks to their years of museum experience and deep passion for education and change management." (Kinneret Kohn, Associate Director for Students and Educators, Art Institute of Chicago)
Another told us "This workshop was so helpful both in the practical aspects of my job, but also with the bigger picture of knowing that there are others in the field grappling with the same issues as me." (Saraphina Masters, Coordinator of Student Engagement and Public Programs, Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University)
