    MuseumNext Australia
    Brisbane, Australia | 19 – 21 March 2018

Call for Papers | Deadline Friday 15 September

MuseumNext is a global conference on the future of museums. Since 2009 it has acted as a platform for showcasing best practice today to shine a light on the museum of tomorrow.

On 19 – 21 March 2018 we will be holding our second annual conference in Australia (read about our previous events). With three days of presentations, discussions and debates on Brisbane's South Bank.

Every MuseumNext conference has a theme, around which the community comes together to discuss the future of museums. This year the theme for MuseumNext USA is inspired by the World Science Festival which will coincide with MuseumNext Australia.

This event blurs the boundaries between art and science to deliver an exhilarating experience, and reminded us that it is often where two very different things meet that the most interesting things happen, be that art and science, digital and analogue or past and future.

    This years theme is Intersections.

We are now inviting proposals from our community on the theme of Intersections:

Unusual Collaborations – How has your institution brought together strange bedfellows to produce spectacular results?

Cross-disciplinary – How are you using art to explain science or science to explain art?

Connecting People – How can a museum create connections between it's visitors?

Or – We welcome your own ideas about how the theme of Intersections relates to museums.

MuseumNext follows a fast-paced format of twenty-minute presentations with the focus very much on practice rather than theory (please note that this is the only format we'll use at this event and we aren't seeking longer presentations or workshops at this time).

Proposals for presentations should contain a title, names of presenters, a summary of the themes to be addressed, relevant links as well as a description of the expected learning outcomes.

We offer those speaking at the conference one free ticket per session, and speakers are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.

Submit your proposal using the form below:
