I wanted to share that NEDCC is offering a
free online emergency preparedness course for cultural and historic resource organizations in California. The program is sponsored by the CA State Library and funded by IMLS, and begins
next week. Here's more information about the program:
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is open to individuals associated with CA libraries, museums, archives, historical societies, and other cultural heritage organizations, as well as county government departments and personnel, and offices involved with emergency management and public safety.
COURSE BENEFITS:
- You will create a basic disaster plan and stress test it.
- You will learn about risk assessment and mitigation, emergency preparedness and response, and related topics.
- You will acquire hands-on experience with salvage techniques.
- You will build relationships with nearby institutions (e.g. to collaborate on policy building and supply purchases).
