    Hi folks! For my master's thesis, I am researching flood risk awareness, perception, and preparedness among site managers across all types of heritage sites in the US. I'm hoping those of you working in a site management or preservation capacity will complete my survey, which takes about 10-15 minute survey and is completely anonymous. Survey results will be analyzed in conjunction with current flood mitigation best-practices in the cultural heritage sector and federal policies that influence our present and future work, with regard to climate change adaptation.

    An excellent topic.  But it made me laugh . . .  The Penn Museum has been repeatedly asked about it's flood emergency plan since it's more/less on the river.  So we mapped our risk potential . . . and if the museum were in danger of river flooding, then most of Center City Philadelphia and parts of New Jersey would be under water.  River flooding is addressed in our emergency policy, but our more greater water risk comes from ground water saturation in subgrade levels in a 100+ year old building.  Feel free to email if you wish to talk about emergency planning.
