  • 1.  Reimagining the Museum Conference in Medellín

    Hi all,

I'm curious whether folks are planning to attend the Reimagining the Museum Conference in Medellín this November. It sounds like a great opportunity--both professionally and as excuse to visit Colombia--but the cost of registration, airfare, lodging, time off, etc. adds up.

I should also mention that I'm not a "typical" museum professional (whatever that means): I'm an independent translator who specializes in museum publications. So far I've mainly collaborated with museums in Europe, and this could be a chance to connect with institutions in the U.S. and Latin America. But that's just me--I'm curious about people's rationale for attending/not attending from their own perspectives.

    All the best,
    Kevin

It sounds like fun! I just got back from Colombia! I am very impressed by the creativity and resourcefulness of the Latin American communities, certainly would be nice to know more about it.

Can you post the link to the website information?

    Thanks,

There was also some talk of it at the AAM Conference in St. Louis.
